Is some part of my PC dying?

Post » Sun Aug 25, 2013 10:41 am

My computer has frozen three times in the last few days, I believe two of them were while playing games. No, nothing's overheating, I checked.

Needless to say it would svck to have my PC fall apart a week before Rome 2 comes out.

Here's my DxDiag (I don't remember how to make the quote scroll, sorry):

Have you updated any drivers or installed new programs recently?

I had a pausing issue with my PC some weeks ago, that turned out to be caused by Nvidia drivers. But not before before i had formatted the OS drive :hehe: Been using 314.22 Drivers without issues now.

I'm on 320.49 and I can't exactly remember when I updated it but I feel like it was recent enough for it to maybe play a part.

(That's what it says when I click the Nvidia Experience tray icon rather than go into device manager)

I had a similar problem with that driver version using Windows 7 64bit. My system locked up a couple of times just browsing the web. You might want to consider rolling back to an older version. When it comes to Nvidia drivers, it's a good idea to download them manually and hang on to the one that works the best, as the newer ones don't always work right. I'm still using v301.42 as anything after that just hasn't worked properly for me. Ironically 320.49 has been working just fine with my XP OS. I have a triple boot system, XP/Vista/Windows 7 64bit. And before you ask, I only use Vista because my TV tuner card doesn't work quite right with Windows 7 and not at all with XP. It's essentially just my TV, which I never watch anyway.

I too have 7 64b. Don't remember what driver version caused me the issue, though
