nice questions and answers!
"The way that trading works though is that trading works within your guilds and you can be in multiple guilds. So what we kinda expect is for the community to start making merchant guilds where their buying low selling high-end doing economy that way because with our mega server technology we can’t just have everybody on one huge auction house and have 10 100 billion cabbages up for sale. So the way that we do it is you trade within the guilds that your part of."
lame. the trade/auction system sounds terrible.
You can join multiple guilds. So avoid those guys if you don't like them. Besides, if they your asking price, why should you care what they do with it? If you want to sell to your guildmates cheap, then don't allow random people to join, or just trade in person or thru the guild vault.
me and my friends usually create a small guild (theres like 6-10 of us) I don't want to have to join a multiple guilds just so I can buy or sell crafting materials. not a huge deal but it seems like it will be an annoyance more than the convenience they are trying to make it out to be. why do they think players want to join multiple guilds?
"So we’re going to do a little bit of that because we’re currently working on this those sort of systems. But what you will be able to do is in PvP when you take over a keep you’ll be able to claim it for your guild so when everybody looks at it they’ll know that your guild is the one that took that keep. Everybody wants to show their colors. We’re just trying to figure out the best way to do that both artistically and within the style and all that as well as making sure that you have the creativity to display the colors that you want."
What happens, if you take over a keep and you are in 5 guilds at the current moment? What guild are you going to claim ti for? Will a list appear? Also, I'm assuming you'll need to carry 5 tabards with you?
She talks a lot at 5:00-6:00 about what the Role players want/need and they're listening to us on the forums, well how about sittable chairs?
I never liked the idea that we could join multiple guilds, but I don't think they will change it now. It's tied up with so many features in their game that it would be too hard for them to do it.
But, you don't have to join guilds to buy things. You can still just ask in trade chat to buy/sell items. So, there's still that option for people who don't want to join multiple guilds. They just seem to want to do something different with this guild AH system. Now that's not saying it's going to be good, but it could be a nice, fresh, new idea. So, it can be a truly innovative feature that MMOs will start gravitating to, or it'll be a complete bust and ZOS might have to get rid of it and add in a global AH.
I'm going to go ahead and say that it's possibly dependent on what guild actually takes over the keep. So, say that 50 members of guild A capture a keep, but 10 of those members are also apart of guild B, since they are the minority group it would go to the guild that contributed the most to capturing the keep.
That's just speculation. They might allow several guilds use the same keep.
Dear Lord, I hope not.. If they did that Guild pride would be non-existent.
she said "the way trading works is....trading works within your guilds" I take that to mean that I cannot trade/buy/sell with anyone not in my guild. if I have to join a guild even if briefly just to buy/sell than that is an annoyance.
The auction system is lame imo, what if nobody in my guild WANTS an item I'm selling but someone outside a guild does? That kind of stuff happens all the time. I hope there will be another way to make money in game if selling stuff will be difficult. Also the guild limit; 300 members isn't that much, especially when you consider the inactives. SWTOR (a F2P game mind you) allows 500. 300 is only a good number if most of the members are active. The guild emblem system is interesting though, I'd like to see what they come up with for that. The costumes thing is also good for me as an RPer. Also, the justice/crime system sounds promising, that's one thing that really adds to the "Elder Scrolls experience" and the more events, the better.
Just to clarify, you CAN buy and sell with people outside your guild. But that is considered a manual transaction you'll need to perform a trade with that specific person. But if you want to reach a large base of people you'll need to be in a guild.
I wrote an article about the guild store http://www.tesoelite.com/2013/08/guild-store-the-good-the-bad-and-the-zerg/.
You can still trade with people outside of your guild. They just can't use your GAH.
I'm about 99% sure they won't allow multiple guilds to use the same keep.
So do that and then join a mega-guild in order to buy things they can't provide. Not really all that different from being in a small guild and accessing a server-wide AH. Especially since don't know how you access the various AH.
My assumption would be you can either flag a particular guild as your primary, or when you enter Cyrodiil you pick which one you are fighting for. Doubt seriously if this hasn't come up in testing yet....
For the love of Raptor Jesus, please google "context".
Just because she says something like that, it doesn't mean anything she doesn't say is automatically false, wrong, non-existent etc.
Gah, I just want to hear more about the JUSTICE SYSTEM!!!
Well, rumour has it that its made up of one guy who's really strong, another who likes hiding in the shadows, another guy who dresses in green, and a hot chick who'll kick your ass without even trying. Of course, I could be thinking of another group...
