From the perspective of some one who is a devout and loyal fan of the earlier games such as Arena (1994), Daggerfall (1996), Battlespire (1997), Redguard (1998), Morrowind (2001 - went gold in 2002), Shadowkey (2004) I can only say that it would be similar to going to jail in the year 1950 during the events, culture, monumental statues, building types and architecture, and settings of that time and then coming out of jail sometime in the years that elderscrolls online takes place, and then seeing the world has changed drasticly including peoples beliefs and cymbolism, new world apperiance. which does have some merit because if you release a man from prison today that has been there since 1940 or earlier he would see the whole world has changed and he might not be able to survive with todays new world tech and items such as the microwave and computers advancements. it depends on his ability to adapt but I would say this could even kill most men if faced with this type of situation and not atleast have some help to accept what appiers to be greatly insulting to the things he may have fought for in his years when he was a free man. just something as simple as using an electric can opener would be a tremendous Feat and accomplishment for a man in this type of situation.
when we look at todays elderscrolls titles such as skyrim, and oblivion (2006). we will obviously see many changes that are somewhat insulting to the older crowd such as myself who not only engaged in the earlier games for fun but also learned to adapt to the settings of the times and culture presented in those earlier chapters.
now I have come to accept a lot of the changes and even the distastefull alliances and culture and locked boarders, but what will effect me the most and be the greatest Feat for me to accept and live with is the settings and architecture and most certainly the attitudes of the NPC's wont be the same as when I was playing the older elderscrolls titles.
im having some trouble facing these hurdles and wish for some advice in how to allow for some corrections and changes to be implemented in ESO. talking about this situation with a developer on this topic would ofcourse help greatly.
I watched a video here http://www.tesoelite.com/2013/08/eso-interview-with-maria-aliprando/ in which the developer said that they would like to hear from some of us about the lore and discuss it here on the forums so I am doing just that here with this thread.
