I just wanted see who likes the PvP costume rule in Cyrodiil. For those of you who don't know, we get a variety of costumes in ESO. You can wear these over your normal armor. People will see you in the costume, instead of your regular armor. However, you can not wear costumes in Cyrodiil.
I see this from two points of view.
A ) On the one hand, ZOS wants everyone to see what everyone else is wearing, so there can be real strategy involved. If you see a guy in full cloth, you would know he is using that for mana, so he is probably a mage. I don't know how important that will be in the heat of battle, but you can switch weapons in battle, so that information could come in handy if you are ready for it.
Also, if everyone is wearing their actual gear, it will have a more realistic feel on the battlegrounds.
One more thing is, most costumes are made from cloth, with a few made from leather and almost none from plate, historically speaking. So, most people would probably look like they are wearing cloth. One might argue that the costumes could match the armor, but we can mix and match armor pieces, and probably not costumes.
B )On the other hand, you might say that restricting costume wearing in one zone is kind of crazy and unrealistic. Why would I not be able to change clothes in Cyrodill? Must be the same magic that let's me kill people.
Also, if everyone can do it, it is fair for everyone. You could also point out that it might be easier to tell people apart. Instead of seeing 50 guys in platemail, you would see some real freaks in the field. "Kill the frog guy! I'll stun unicorn girl and kill the Santa guy!"
Also, some might just find it more fun then the classic look of a battle.
What do you guys think?
I don't really care either way, personally.
