Pass between provinces? Size?

Post » Mon Aug 26, 2013 6:37 pm

Maybe this is a dumb question and it has been answered but I can't find it.

For example, I'm gonna play as a Nord, Ebonheart pact. I'm in Windhelm...I start to walk east direction to Blacklight. Are there loading screens? I mean, like if I enter a dungeon or similar, where you see a loading screen and the player just "appears" inside or it will be without transitions? Will the whole map be there or when trying to go from one province to another, we'll have a loading screen?

PLEASE I HOPE NOT. I hope to have the whole land without transitions.

And about size. For example: Will Skyrim be the same size as Skyrim single player game?

Yes and no. Some areas are blocked off by mountains and the only way to get to the next area is through a massive door or a dungeon. Other areas are wide open and you will not even notice when you switch zones.

As far as size, I can't help you with that one. Some say it will be bigger, some say smaller. If i had to guess, I'd say a bit smaller, because you have the whole continent in the game. Also, some of the areas are blocked off, for expansions later on.

Many thanks for your info. Anyway, it does not make sense to me regarding: "Some areas are blocked off by mountains and the only way to get to the next area is through a massive door or a dungeon". I mean, imagine that I want to go to Morrowind. I'm in front of a mountain and to get to Morrowind from here I need to pass through a dungeon I have in front of me. Ok. But what If I go to Morrowind from another part of Skyrim where I see an open arear and I have no need to pass thorugh the dungeon? What's the point of the dungeon then (talking about passing to another province).

Well, you can not cross large water masses, just like most MMOs. At least the ones I tried to cross made you start to drown. So, if you are on an area of land and the only way to get off is through a mountain range, but the mountains are too high to climb over, you have to go through the door/dungeon.

Keep in mind, this was a starting area. From what I was told, after you get past the starter areas, the whole world is pretty much open.

Ok thanks, I'd like to know more about people playing the beta, but seems quite impossible to know about it. Let's hope somebody can say more about this topic.

And what did you think about the game? Did you feel it can please roleplaying gamers like me or people that, like me, is not very fan of mmorpgs, and it is a TES games maniac? I mean, can this game please TES fans?

I suppose, he can't, but at least maybe he had some thoughts that can make me think about what the game will be. Of couse, it is impossible to be clear and have a concrete idea about the game with just a demo, but well, it is the only thing we have now and the only thing I can ask for.
