New Interview with Nick Konkle on GC (nice infos)

Post » Wed Aug 28, 2013 1:41 pm

Although the quality is pretty bad (and the interviewer very unpolite), the questions are interesting:

Important answers

1. ZOS will work on the "stiff" animations, they are aware of it.

2. level of detail i.e. for the weapons will improve

Besides there is a lot about megaserver, consoles, cross-plattforming. Nothing new here as far as I see.

Not surprised at all that they are still working on animations and they realized that they did look a bit stiff. This is something that is always worked on during beta. Here's just hoping that they look super polished by launch.

I just like the fact he confirmed it. Better then "sure they will" for me. I am a little more relaxed now.

I'm fine with the animations already. But if they're going to get even better, great.

Also, this interviewer is really annoying. He just told a game developer that people are going to tamper with the game to fix the textures: RIGHT after Nick said they are still working on those textures.

EDIT:

Did anyone else catch the bit about the Imperials at the end? And then someone showed up to shut down the interview? I think they have something special planned there.

Interview with Nick Konkle --"I think you can do whatever you want to if you tamper with the files, but it isn't a supported feature."

The question about how the hot-bar system will work with controllers is one I've frequently thought of, although the response was a fairly typical "Yeah we know. We're working on it. It'll be good.", it was still comforting to hear. Some gameplay footage on a console soon would be swell, see how well people can switch between skills and abilities, and weapons on the controller.

The death animations are especially what bugged me...so static and kind of sluggish as well...reminded me a lot of the WoW death animations, where you just drop to your knees and slump over.

That's gonna happen when you don't add physics to the game.
