Interwebed guild trade houses.

The Devs said they want guilds to end up being a web of trade houses, so this might be one way to do that. I think if they have some kind of linking system between allied guilds, so they join AHs this system would work well.

Example, if guild A were allied with guilds B, C, D and E, their AH's would look like one AH to any of those guild members in guild A.

At the same time, Guild B might also have allied guilds with F, G, H, I and J so anyone from guild B would have a combo AH of A plus F, G, H, I and J.

The more allies, the bigger the web of guild trade houses.

What do you guys think?

Too much work.

If I want a shiny new sword, I'll join the swordmakers guild and buy one. If I need flowers, I'll join the flowerpickers guild.

In theory it could work, but I think there would be a ton of work to make it even possible.

I'm still very interested in seeing how this will pan out. I have hopes for it, but it will be reserved mainly till I get to see it in action myself.

Too much work for who? If the guilds were inter linked, you would not need to go from AH to AH to find what you needed.

I'm thinking joining the Store level of a guild will be simple, and not require a /ginvite from a guild officer - that'd be required for social membership, but just for store membership, I'd wager there's something in the UI to browse guilds, and join/quit at the store level.

Otherwise, officers of popular trading guilds would spend all day inviting people, and getting harassed for invites - people wanting to join a guild for store purposes can wait hours/days for someone with permissions. And with what Firor has said about "join a guild, use the store, leave, hop on over to another one" it seems likely there will be a level that's easy to use.

Go ahead and write up the code, it'll save ZOS a couple weeks worth of work and testing.

And if Guild A is linked to B-Q, and Guild B-Q are linked to 37 guilds each, won't it essentially be a worldwide AH with everything on it - something they don't want?

Saying something will take too long to code is a flawed argument. You like the idea and have a reason why you like it or you don't like it and have a reason why you don't like it.

If you like the idea, you would want them to spend time to make it.

If you don't like the idea, you don't want them to spend time to make it.

Nobody ever said, "I don't like this idea. I sure hope they spend time making it."

If you say it will take too long to code, someone else will argue it will not, or you have no clue how long it will take. It can not be resolved and it ignores the real issue, which is the actual idea in the first place.

I have a feeling this may be how it does work. Meaning the more guilds that are networked the more goods and items you have access to. So you may have access to the 5 guilds your in plus any guilds that are networked with them. I really doubt ZOS expects us to guild hop from guild to guild in order to find stuff. I think there will be some kind of UI interface where all the items will be listed from all the guild stores we have access to.
