I got Skyrim at the midnight release, and have put in a lot of time. My three current characters add up to almost 500 hours, and that's not including characters I got tired of and deleted, and/or accidentally deleted. (Accidentally deleted my first 81. D': ) I've probably put nearly 1500 hours into the game. And after that much time, things just get a little old. I used to play with the brightness turned up as high as it could go, so I could see everything in dark caves. I hated having to use a Torch, or Candlelight, or having to make a Khjiit, or be a vampire for an improved vision spell. I recently read about someone who's little brother played the same way, and he convinced him to turn the brightness down to the default level. And apparently the kid was amazed, it completely changed the game for him. So I did the same thing, and I have to admit, its incredible the difference that it makes. With the brightness not turned up all the way, there's not that internal, hazy glare on the game. Dusk, Dawn, and the night sky are much more beautiful now, the moonlight actually comes into play when you're out in the fields. Dark area's are more ominous since you can't see to good, and overall it just feels like a huge graphical improvement.
So what did you do to help renew your interest in playing Skyrim after all this time?
