Aside from GTAV, I haven't been this excited for a game in a few years.
Yeah. the age of the the third person actionbar is drawing to a close.
At the moment I am a proud subscriber to FF14 ARR. It is the epitome of what came before in form and function. Instead of just ignoring what's been done before to try their own thing they built upon the ideas done before it.
But quite honestly If my friends weren't playing it I wouldn't be. I have fun doing dungeons and group content and building my character. Doing guild stuff. But as a game experience I still dump more hours into skyrim than FF14.
I think most of the excitement is the desire for something new in a meaningful way. Elder scrolls may not be what we want exactly. But it's the first of what will come hereafter. The dawn of the action mmo.
So I am stoked for ESO- and Star Citizen
not very excited as i feel it is just another MMO
sure i would love to see another "great" game but i started in EQ1 (and MUDs for that matter) and played WoW and have tried every game I can think of since EQ but the last big hyped game was swtor which sadly svcked in many ways (star wars fans might have liked it but it was just wrong in my views).
I now get hyped about nothing and hardly read the excited pages but just look up what is the true mechanics and what the game is like then decide from there
