Couple questions regarding the three alliances

Post » Wed Sep 04, 2013 1:19 am

1) if I play an Argonian and my wife wants to play an elf, will we forever be pitted against each other due to our differing alliances? Will there be a way for her or myself to defect to another alliance?

2) How are the fort pvp raids supposed to work? Are they going to be a timed daily event? Where If I am not online at a specific time of day I miss out.

2.5) what is the point of the massive pvp raids, what do we gain or risk loosing?

3) If I am a member of Daggerfall and I travel into Ebonheart territory to do quests am I marked as kill on sight by every Ebonheart player? Or does PvP only occur inside the central area on the map?

Unrelated) Will I be able to change the appearance of armor? Even if it is limited to plate can only look like plate ect.

I dont have acess to beta and most of what I know is from these forums, but anyway. I will do my best.

1, depends on how the devs distribute the 9 (AFAIK) Races among the alliances. if you're lucky and they put argonians and elfes together then you will be playing with your wife, if its otherwise then you'll play against her.

2 So far I know there are "keeps" which can be taken any time of the day, any day.

3 IDK

4 There will probably be some sort of Skins, or Clothes which you wear in town instead of armor, but I'm not sure.

1. No cross-faction play. So yeah, choose the same faction or you can't play together.

2. Totally open. People can attack when they want to. Success is rewarded with faction-wide buffs (e.g. Increased gold and xp rates), and the ultimate goal is to crown a player Emperor. Beta testing is due to start on pvp real soon, so some stuff may change.

3. Zones outside your faction will be instanced, so you will only ever see friendly players.

4. Yep, Armour styles can be changed. Very little details on this, but presumably heavy will still have to look like heavy, and so on.

1) Not if she plays a Dark Elf. If she plays a High Elf or Wood Elf, yes, you will never be able to play together and will always be enemies.

2) We don't know fully yet but the best indication is how it works in DAOC, GW2 and PS2, where basically you can attack any keeps at any time but massing forces for a keep raid is not as simple as snapping your fingers, and a couple of guys won't cut it.

2.5) Again we don't know the specifics, but the end result is that if you capture the most keeps, and the Imperial City, then your side gets to crown the emperor. Also it is likely we'll see passive bonuses for each faction in PvE and PvP.

3) No, your version of EP territory will be a separate instanced version where you will not come across players of that faction, only NPCs. The NPCs won't kill you but they might not be very nice to you.

4) We don't 100% know but you can wear disguises over any armor that will act as a cosmetic outfit.

Argonian, Dark Elf and Nord are all in the same faction, The Ebonheart Pact. http://elderscrollsonline.com/en-uk/game-guide/alliances/ebonheart-pact You can only group/quest with other players from your faction.

Thank you all.

I do find it very odd that there would never be a way to join another alliance. There are several Romeo and Juliette where 2 opposing races fall in love with each other and such.

I don't think it would be too far fetched to have a betrayal/defect questline that would allow someone to play their chosen race with their chosen alliance. They would just have to be willing to jump through a few flaming hoops first.

Please do a search on this topic. This horse has been beat to death. There are reasons, and not just "the devs didn't feel like [censored] with it".
