» Wed Sep 04, 2013 6:48 am So, I saw in another forum that someone posted a quote by Atropos, from Tamriel Foundry, saying that he talked to the devs at PAX Prime and they confirmed to him that there will be no cash shop in ESO, it was all a misinterpretation. Well, I would have posted this sooner on the website, but, I couldn't find exactly where this was said. But I finally decided to look for the quote that he made because it was really bugging me and I wanted to see the actual quote.

So, it seems that the whole cash shop thing was a misinterpretation (strange use of words for me. We have known for a few months now that there would be a shop for the game. We just didn't know whether the shop would be in-game or if it would be like Blizzards store that you can only access it outside the game). Now, I feel that what they mean by this is that they are getting rid of the "fun items" that they were going to sell and are now just going to sell just the services (name/race/gender changes) and I believe they will sell ESO swag too (hoodies/mugs/t-shirts).
I feel that information this big should have been already addressed by ZOS. So, hopefully they will release some information soon to whether confirm or deny what Atropos said was actually true.
So, what are your thoughts on this if they truly did decide to take away the cash shop. Do you think this was a recent decision because of all the backlash? Do you believe they will still have a shop that sells services and possible ESO swag?
I would like to keep this from turning into a payment model cluster[censored]. So please just talk about whether or not you believe this is true, what your feelings are about it, and if it now changes your mind about playing the game.
