Don't think the Xbox One won't be watching you.

Whew! Microsoft relented. You don't have to connect it the internet to play your games. You don't have to have the Kinect connected. But if you do:

Once you connect to Xbox Live, you agree to let them do so as well:

Honestly, those are some pretty standard terms of use.

This would be a problem if the Xbox One was the only way to get access to porm.

There are other ways? Here I thought my console was the only way to make it work.

It's the equipment and where that equipment is located that those terms are attached to that sets them apart. I realize this isn't something that concerns everyone. But I find it freaky.

Smart TV's, not to be out done for long, are joining the foray. What are we to do? :D

The more technology advances the less privacy we have. It's really all part of a bigger picture that's well beyond advertising and the like.

ha I often laugh at how the similarities to movies like the Matrix seem to be in development as if people don't believe something like that is possible. I remember watching a documentary about advanced AI and robotics where one of the lead guys on the team was joking about creating a computer that would replace us as if it's unavoidable...silly scientists will doom us all one day, my guess is by virus or improper use of the super collider

We must detonate an EM to short circuit all devices using electronic circuits. It's the only way. WE MUST GO BACK TO WEARING KILTS, ROLLING HILLS AND WARRING WITH OUR FOES WITH WARHAMMERS! TIS THE ONLY WAY TO SAVE HUMANITY!!!

I could begrudgingly live with the fact that the 360 may be the last console I'd be interested in owning. But the TV thing bothers me more. I like watching TV and I like Netflix, because it's cheap, which means I need a freaking Smart TV. I really don't want to have to either give up TV or have my living room and bedroom monitored. Jeeeesh!

We could just draw a line, couldn't we? Like no microphones and cameras in our home appliances? Is that too much to ask? :stare: :D

Paraphrased standard language in almost every modern electronics Terms of Use:

I like how the first Xbox One commercial had no games in it, it was an NFL fantasy footaball/skype trash commercial. Hahahaha. I alternate between wanting Xbox One to survive to offer competition to Sony and dying off so we can be rid of their stupidity.

Yeah, I was about to say Google makes you agree to a lot more information gathering just to access the market (Google Play).
