I've been thinking about this again, and thought it would be an interesting thread. Would've saved it for October, but knowing me I would probably forget.

Of all the typical monsters (i.e. vampires, werewolves, zombies, ghosts, etc.), which best describes you or your personality, and which would you prefer, and why?

I ask this because I started thinking how much I'm like a vampire again. I've had people tell me I'm similar to one, and when I think about it, it makes sense why someone would think that. Pale, don't eat much, dislike sunlight, like dark places... it's kind of uncanny.

If you have your own idea of a monster you're are similar to but not many people are familiar with, please explain what it is, and why you think you would be like that. This is a fun topic, so don't come to say how ridiculous this is.

Ghost probably. Eternally, vaguely pissed off, and pretty irrelevant to most people.

I've actually been told that I'm like a ghost as well. Deathly quiet, to the point where no one hears my footsteps. Then again, vampires are like this as well, so I'm still going with vampire. It's my preference, after all.

Victor von Doom in my eyes is a hero, like Magneto can be depending on who writes the story.

Those things don't even deserve to be called vampires. Because they're not.

I haven't read much of any Marvel comics, so I'm uncertain as to what you mean when you say that Dr. Doom is a hero. Do you agree with his ideals, or are you just saying that really the hero is who you perceive it to be?

Ummmm.....I can't think of one particular monster that best describes me. But it'd probably have to be whatever is the most hated because no one seems to like me.

Oh, and I refrained from listing "witch", because I was uncertain as to what the male equivalent would be. "Wizard" just doesn't sound right in that context.

A witch can be male too.

Depending on the writer, Doom can most definitely be a hero. He is capable of selfless acts, he is always courteous, he can be kind to those he defeated.

He's saved the universe a couple of times as well as Kitty Pride once and the daughter of Reed Richards.

He has his own kinda way of doing things but I don't think he's a bad guy at all.

He killed a king and now rules the country, but it was a bad king and Doom really does care for and help his people. He protects them, educates them, his fictional European Balkan state is one of the most technologically advanced nations.

Vampire maybe. I've been called it several times by several different people because I often look somewhat pale, and prefer nighttime over daytime, even though I think the nickname makes a minimal amount of sense. But in Winter I basically do become a vampire

Back in the navy, during the WarCraft III craze, I was called Lich, partly because of my skin problem and my scrawny build.

I used to be a vampire as I was seldom seen in day time and would get energized at sunset then crash at dawn. Nowadays I'm more of a werewolf as I have a savage side and been known to beast and tear things apart in rare moments when I would temporarily lose control and the beast would break out of my skin. I'm much better at keeping it tame now

Lich. wizards of extreme power, becoming undead through their own desires, to continue their magical motives perpetually. The oldest even become demi-liches; only a fragment of their physical form exists, the rest having been discarded into dust ages ago.

Probably a vampire, considering my insomnia and anaemic appearance. Though the sight of blood and smell of sweaty donors makes me queasy. And I hasten to add nothing to do with the sometimes goth fascination with "vampyres": I wasn't into that scene even during my teenage goth phase.
