Enchanting potion woes

Post » Mon Sep 09, 2013 9:55 am

I am trying to create enchanting potions, but the only three ingredients I have are Blue Butterfly Wings, Snowberries and Spriggen Sap. When I mix these, I get a poison of damage magicka regeneration that also yields a 29% boost to enchanting. The thing is, when I drink the potion, it bestows the poison to my weapon, but it does not imbue the player with the enchanting bonus.

Am I to assume that this particular concoction, because it is a poison (and not a potion), only imbues my enemies with the enchanting bonus? If so, that seems kind of useless game-wise as enemies aren't really ever enchanting items.

I tried hitting my follower with my poisoned weapon to see if that would somehow imbue the enchanting portion of the draught on the player, but no luck.

So, how does one make enchanting potions versus poisons with the ingredients I have? And what the heck is the use of an enchanting poison?

Another words, what the heck have I done wrong? :ahhh:

Cheerio...

Are you using all three ingredients at once?

Try just the sap and snowberries.

Hagraven Claw, Spawn Ash, and Chaurus Hunter Antenna also have the Fortify Enchanting effect.

Drop either the Blue Butterfly Wing or the Spriggan Sap from your potion and create it with the Snowberries and the ingredient you keep. The first two ingredients share the Damage Magicka Regen effect, so it will always appear in a mixture you create with them.

The game decides whether a mixture is a potion or a poison by whichever effect is strongest.
