Eerie or Spooky Moments in Video Games

Have you ever gotten to a point in a game and the area you're in and you think to yourself if the character your playing as feels like. Example...

http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130209171439/finalfantasy/images/6/63/Dreams-end-ffx.jpg.

Take this moment in FFX this where Tidus's journey started and ended at, the area is basically frozen in time at the exact moment Tidus left it. When you watch the scene unfold at the beginning you see the people fleeing for their lives and then freeze in place. What if Tidus and party where allowed to visit Dream Zanarkand and see all the frozen people in the exact pose they where left in...kinda gives you chills thinking about it huh. So what games have you guys played that made you think of how eerie this moment really is or can be?

Well, in terms of 'spooky', the Thief series has provided several of these moments, chief among them are Return to Cathedral and The Cradle. The former because you're returning to a place that you had already been, but it is changed in important ways (I never expected those doors to be locked!) that make the moment tense and scary; and the latter because, well, you're in an abandoned orphanage/asylum at night.

That asylum was like the scariest level in that game. I think I quit the first time I got there, kept getting my ass handed to me.

As for scary games. Play Condemned: Criminal Origins or Condemned 2: Bloodshot. (the first one being more scary and the second more of an action game, but still scary). Now those games will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time with crazy meth heads jumping you in dark places and all you got is a 2x4 with nails sticking out of it.
