ZSO should learn from Wildstar

ESO's IP could have made this game amazing. We are talking WoW tier here! (If you are a WoW hater, then don't even bother posting. I can't stomach another failed Justin Bieber anology.)

Then, here come the console kids saying the game was detracting too much from the ES franchise, and all that potential goes down the toilet. Would it have been a risk? Yes, most certainly, but the potential reward was well worth it.

Warcraft was a freaking RTS game prior to WoW, yet Blizzard converted that RTS game into the best MMO in history! ES was already an RPG! If only the fans could have let ZSO actually make an MMO, then this game truly could have been something great.

Early WoW, pre-TBC, exemplifies what an MMO should be, and Wildstar is copying that success model.

Wildstar took that early model of WoW, copied it, and then made it better. That is innovation, that is how progress is made in the real world.

ZSO on the other hand, took skyrim, set the clock back, and then added multiplayer. It isn't bad, but it isn't innovative in the least!

It is a real pity that ESO, won't be up there with them.

Now, does this mean I am saying ESO will fail? Well it depends on what you mean by that.

Do I think ZSO will create a great MMO? No! A purely single player experience could never make for a great MMO.

Do I think that ESO will turn a profit? Of course it will! It is releasing on multiple platforms, and the IP alone will enable it to sell millions of copies.
