PEGI-12 and Elder Scrolls

Post » Fri Sep 27, 2013 2:13 am

So, last dev movie really scared me badly, it wasnt the monster tho, it was PEGI 12 rating http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vBpbj3sC2E

How can we expect proper Elder Scrolls with this rating? Yes I know, we all have seen it coming after cute Ogrim and Harpies with makup. But how does any daedra fit in? How do you actually make a PEGI - 12 game with Molag Bal as main villain?

Here is my guess on ESO lore entry:

Daughter of Coldharbour - a woman Molag Bal has been very mean to. That made her so sad, that she turned into monstrous supervampire

Any thoughts how to put it better?

i think skyrim was only rated 18+ because of the slo mo decapitations. so I would say yes it's possible.

That rating's been on vids for ages. Surprised it took so long for a thread to come up.

As has been said before, they want a wide audience for this, so they're gonna tone down the content some. As with pretty much anything else, this isn't gonna change.

At most i guess we wills ee is a Teen rating on it.. i dont expect it to be rated Mature at all. there is no justification on it.. and honestly there are scarier cartoon villains for kids these days than Molag Bal

First PEGI is a European rating system not NA, and second it says provisional. ie not set in stone yet. We have no idea yet what the NA ESRB rating will be.

Third, do some research: http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/

Sounds fine to me.

Isn't that just the rating for the video, not the game?

The ESRB rating hasn't been decided/announced yet.

Im not entirely sure its the same Molag Bal we are talking about, otherwise you have been watching very strange cartoons and 100% not for children

last box I bought was GW2, it says Pegi 12, and SWTOR was Pegi 16..
I Think gaming Companys that make mmo's want a low Pegi so they can reach a broader mass of ppl..

PEGI gave The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind a 12 rating too, is it not a "proper" TES game? For many it's the best TES game.

Disney is well known for their movies having some deeply disturbing stuff though.
