The main plot pits us all against the vile necromancer cult of Mannimarco. He keeps reviving Imperials to generate a renewable army in an effort to support Molag Bal's scheme. Word is it will not be a very strong skill line in ESO.

As of now, we haven't heard whether if there will be a necromancy line in the game or not. I'm going to go ahead and say that we won't, at least not at launch.

One, big, thing that ZOS wants to do when they add new content, every month, is to add in new skill lines into the game. So, don't fret if it's not there at launch, there will be a good chance that it'll show up later in a content patch.

I really hope there will be necromancy in-game.

Necromancy to me is very important in Elder Scrolls lore, and denying the players to use necromancy is bull-feces of the highest degree.

In addition to that, I am planning to RP at least one (and first) character as a necromancer, would be literally game breaking if I were not able to actually do the thing my character is known for.

However i see how necromancy could be a pain to implemented in pvp content, since resurrecting a dead opponent could not possibly inherit all of the original players char skills, let alone IA issues.

I think if necromancy is in-game it would much be like regular conjuration, only then the magically appearing of undead out of thin air in stead of creatures from the planes of Oblivion

Thanks for answering :) . However how can you defeat your foe if you do not know your foe at all? Being against Mannimarco does not mean that we are agains Necromancy, right? For what i know, Mannimarco pretends to work for the Empire of Cyrodill while he's increaing the molag Bal's army lines. The three factions are initially rushing to conquer the rotten corpse of this falling empire, the Daedric menace will reveal later...

A proud and new-formed Necromancer guild would be a good way to welcome Necromancy practitioners who wants to take this magic school to its former dignity. As Philnis Gestor, Master Conjurer of The COlledge of Winterhold, say: censoring ideas against Necromancy are overtaken by time. Necromancy has the same dignity of all other Magic schools.

I'm not asking a Necromancer class: just some spells and talents.....

First of all: good choice m8, Daggerfall Conv. for life XD.

Then: this would be nice and compatible with the dynamic talent system of the game. I just hope they won't make the same mistake which ruined wow, this game has too much potential to be wasted and ruined....

Necromancy MUST be implemented! It's a plot focused on necromancy! I mean: why Mannimanrco can and i cannot? Necromancy powers are to the scope of anyone who focus hardwork and dedication on this School reaching powers beyond the immagining, beyond life... I shall surely rp a necromancer too if this game won't commit the serious mistake of excluding one of the most important magic schools (if not THE most important for its central part concerning the Oblivion crisis).

And yes: a good trick to turn Necromancy into a pvp setting is to make some spells pure conjuration spells: this means that they do not need a corpse to be casted but they can summon the minion directly form the other plane of the existence (like mist, wrath and bone servants from the skyrim's soul Cairn), a talent that only the most powerful necromancers can master.

Why can he do it and you can't? He's an npc. Lore wise he devoted years of study and testing theories to develop an entirely new approach to imbuing life to dead flesh. I mean lore wise he's supposed to be the first necromancer right? Or one of the first? At the very least culturally raising the dead and violating their bodies/souls to do so is a big taboo. An understandable taboo.

You're just a guy at the beginning of your journey. Eventually stuff will be released to support it I am sure. Maybe even going to the soul cairn later on (that'd be sweeet). But for now it wouldn't make sense for you to just up and be able to know how to do it right? You can RP a necrophiliac if you want, that's like the same thing in the eyes of eso tamriel at this point in time.

Necromancy has NEVER been a very big playable part of the game. Conjuration has ALWAYS been about the Daedra, and we have the summoning tree already. They might add a necromancy skill line, but not 100%.
