Sorry just got really happy I think VALVe is going to announce Half-Life 3 soon maybe before this year ends or sometime early in 2014?

I believe it to be real I mean a few months ago it has been leaked that VALVe has like 60 people working on developing Half-Life 3. But VALVe could just be renewing the trademark to protect it's name. So who knows what's going on right now at VALVe.

Seriously, if this is a prank from Valve, then they are even worse than EA.

If this game ever comes out, it'll never live up to the anticipation and hype after all these years.

This. While I enjoyed the first game and what I've played of the second, there's no way that anything they can release now will ever live up to the expectations of the fans.

That's what I think has been stopping them. They didnt do it right away, and the anticipation of it grew too big.

Many people are only waiting for Half Life 3 being finally announced. They don't care about what's in the game, they only want to know that it exists.

Eh, really doesn't mean much. Companies frequently trademark names just to have nothing come out of it.

True but one of the gaffers searched for a Half-Life 3 trademark extensively and could not find one single trademark over the years but this one only the only other trademark that exists is half-Life that's it.

So that begs the question; why bother trademarking HL3, but not HL2 or any of the expansions for the series?

The cynic in me says that it's just them grabbing the name trademark to shoo away the squatters, and they still can't truly count to three.

It's going to be the same thing, regardless of the name. People just don't know what the name is going to be.

Well at least this should push them to finally make Ricochet 2.

Honestly, the episodic thing should just be dropped. When a new episode takes a year to come out, let alone six, you know something went terribly wrong. And the names were just awkward.

In any case, the Half-Life series is at the point where it needs to have a demo presented to the public before anyone takes it seriously.
