Cyrodill at war or peacefull

Post » Thu Oct 03, 2013 5:34 am

Well, let's try another way.

When entering Cyrodill you could choose what version do you enter.

It could break immersion, but it could not. The system could remember your last choice and put you into world of your choice, there could be system option to change.

So Cyrodill at peace could be nice, PvE only and dull?

Cyrodill at war could be dirty, fired, NPC could be killed also.

I do not think that limiting PvP makes sense - if someone loves PvP then limiting his access does not make sense

Just to note - personally I like PvP, but some people might not and I respect it. Also this could give cheap additional world space for PvE players.

Anyway I think there is no chance to start Cyrodill at PvE version - even if somehow magically everybody votes for it the development is too far, just idea.

The entire point of the zone is the alliance war. Why would you even consider removing the point of the zone?

Personally, I'd prefer to be able to set a PvP flag so that in Cyrodiil PvP and PvE players would be invisible to each other. Oblivion was my favorite game of the series, and I would like to see ESO's take on Cyrodiil. But if it means subjecting my character to the whims of other players, I simply won't go there.

Makes another thread to try and fix these problems with Cyrodiil when there are none.

Cyrodiil is going to be what it is, a PvPvE zone, and will be like that for a long time.

I think you're missing the point of this game, and this is coming from someone who has absolutely no desire to engage in PvP. Don't fix what isn't broken.

If you don't like PvP, don't go there. Its the only place in the entire game for those of us that do. Asking for it to be changed in any of the ways you've so far mentioned is selfish.

With that mind set they could also add PvP option to all PvE zones. I don't think its good idea at all, as others people said if you don't like PvP don't go to Cyrodiil. You have the rest of the Tamriel at your disposal is that not enough?

There is one point: I got somehow impression that Cyrodill is much bigger zone then three others - may be I just do not know becuase I did not play beta.

This makes PvE only for some startup and then you have to Cyrodill to continue develop. This makes game for PvP players only.

I just like the world to be balanced - I like to PvE and like to PvP (played 5 years MMO and used both).

So let me reverse - if you want PvP then do not enter PvE areas isn't Cyrodill PvP not enough?

Cyrodiil is about as big as ONE of the alliance areas. PVE players have an area 3 TIMES THE SIZE.

When someone wants to PvP they don't go to PvE areas... You made no sense there. If you take all 3 zones then they will be a lot bigger then Cyrodiil. You can fully develop your character in PvE zones.

Gosh I almost want to agree with the OP just to give him some support. These comments are harsh guys.

But I just can't bring myself to do it....

There is a war going on. It doesn't make sense to have a peaceful version.

Someone who just wants to PvE can avoid main roads, use a lot of stealth, and run when they see players.

For me, the fear of ganking will make Cyrodiil PvE that much more fun.

I mentioned a PvP flag that would make PvP and PvE players invisible to each other in Cyrodiil. There is nothing selfish about this suggestion. PvP players experience would not be impacted beyond not being able to see PvE players who aren't interested in PvPing with them. The only thing PvPers would be deprived of is the chance to pad their stats at the expense of players only interested in the PvE content of the region.

The PvE players are certainly not deprived of anything by the option to set a voluntary PvP flag.

Seems like a win win to me.

So you would be fine with the same option for PvP toggles that let us roam the open world that is currently PvE only?

And you see no issue with making everyone invisible from each other. In an MMO.

Thankfully ZOS has better sense than this.

No, 3 times with 50+ cyrodiil is as big as about the size of an alliance area

Still though, PVE players have NOTHING to complain about.

YES, this is WOW related, it still brings up a good point about why devs rarely listen to the playerbase on certain things

Actually you are wrong. Depending on who you get info from se of the best (highest level) crafting nodes are in the pvp zone. Not to mention a ton of quests meant to be done while under the gun of the other alliances.

I'd say its selfish to allow a player who hates pvp to get access to resources to craft with that I have to fight a real thinking person to obtain.

Maybe selfish is te wrong term but certainly biased.

I guess your point is taken, a system that makes players invisible to each other would be incredibly silly in an MMO.

By the way, how does that whole system that allows you to explore other factions territories after 50th level work again?

I don't agree with it, but without PvP enabled all over the game, it wouldn't work any other way. That system is a compromise for the people who refuse to engage in PvP.

I would accept it, because the alternative is not so good for people who support your idea. :)
