I'd like to get e new game for my 360 and was hoping you all could recommend a good game review site. You know? One that actually reviews games objectively. :D

The only good reviewer is yourself. All you need to do is do your homework on the game and make a proper determination for yourself.

Not possible.

Best option would probably be Youtube. Plenty of people out there reviewing games. Watch a few reviews, maybe some lets plays or two. That'd give you a far better indication of whether a game is for you or not.

Well that's not good news. I'll just keep piecing together what I can.

I watch this guy a lot on YouTube (DSPGaming) and he's pretty decent when it comes to reviews.

Which game were you thinking of?

Do what I do, rent the game first. You are your best reviewer.

Besides, other than game breaking buggy play, there is nothing in a review I pay attention to.

Not too sure yet. Action/adventure, single player, no buy this - buy that to play the game.

The rest comes down to the game world and game play. Nothing too dark, graphic, or criminal. I have young daughters. Shooting monsters is ok. Steeling cars isn't. :D

Been looking at big names so far - Halo, Bioshock, Fallout. I've been out of gaming since PS2 days, so a lot of today's series are new to me.

There is a Family Video here in town too. That's a great idea!

Hmm, you're on Xbox right? You could easily find what you're looking for on the PS3.

Bioshock is good. As is Halo.

Reviews on youtube don't do much for me. What I normally do is watch let's plays, preferably those that don't have commentary. I get to see the game in action and decide right there if it's worth it or not. I would also do what CCNA suggested and rent the game.

Check out IGN. Probably the most unbiased, trustworthy source out there.

I'm sure there are going to be a ton of people in here saying you can't trust reviewers because they accept bribes. The majority of places are reliable. What it comes down to is finding a few reviewers who have similar tastes.

Oh, and of course you should check out http://plus10damage.com/ , we're the most trustworthy people out there. Though I may be bias.

Anything but IGN

Rock Paper Shotgun is a good site, the only screw up was when they gave New Vegas a bad Review

Edit:

:lmao:

Mr Jim Sterling is the only reviewer I trust by name. I also rank totalbiscuit up there pretty high.

The only gaming site I would use for a review is Destructoid and even then, that's only if Sterlings doing the review.

If I'm curious about a game, let's say Deus Ex Human Revolution which I personally haven't played. I usually would check 4 places, Destructoid (Preference on it being a sterling review), Angry Joe, Totalbiscuit (Not technically a reviewer but he does give an honest opinion) and lastly I check the 6, 7, and 8 reviews on Metacritic. The 6, 7, and 8 reviews are the ones I pick and another example. Let's say I'm curious about Tomb Raider and I go to Metacritic and I look at a 7 rating review about the game. I see in the review, that the graphics are great, the combat is ok but the QTE's are terrible and the story can be half assed at times. That is a better review then seeing a really devoted fan 10 rating, a hater 0-4 rating or a biased IGN review that was clearly paid off. I used to rely to Gameinformer for reviews as well but I stopped after Reiner gave Mass Effect 3 a 10/10. There's no way that game is a 10/10, it's at minimum a 7/10 game and it was completely overrated. Mass Effect 3 was a wake up call for me to not rely on vid game media giving reviews but to do your own research.
