Gamers Maturity and Behaviour

Post » Tue Oct 08, 2013 6:02 pm

First an foremost this aint about under 18s vs advlts but more about the gamers maturity.

Or in flat out english how many of you have been messaged or got into a discussion online with a moron who thinks your upset because they killed you an no matter how calm an mature you are they keep assuming your upset even though in reality you couldnt give a flying rats rear end because its only a game an you dont get emotional over 1's an 0's.

Also how often do you troll over gamers even though you hate been trolled yourself.

Often times it IS the under 18 users and players I've experienced this problem with. But in general, I think the people assuming you're mad are just looking for some kind of primal satisfaction at having 'killed' you so if you aren't mad they'll try to get a rise out of you. I got messaged after I got killed saying 'lol u mad loser' and went 'yep, so mad' and got an even nastier response. It's fun to deny them that little moment of triumph. :spotted owl:

Same here in fact the reason for this is because i was playing gta online an flying the chopper around an giving people lifts if they spawned out in the middle of nowhere if they didnt try shooting me so i offered one kid a lift who had a $9000 bounty on his head an went to his location where the vultures were circling when this player killed me then stole my chopper so i put a bounty on him for the same amount an cut a long story short he quit the session.

Then he messages me on xbox live calling me a rage quitter an saying umadbro to which i told him do you speak english cause i couldnt understand a thing he said an what i might do is copy the messages so you can read the discussion between the 2 of us but he still thinks i actually care about been killed online even though anyone who seriously thinks that or does care about k/d/r seriously needs to grow up or get a long deserved hug from their daddy.

I don't really multiplay at all except for splitscreen, which I don't troll in.

I was called a "cancer freak" because I inadvertently passed a certain someone on the Mass Effect 3 MP leaderboards for Challenge Points. I was then harassed on the Bioware Social Network and Xbox LIVE by this person, detailing how he wish the cancer would've finished me off. Blah blah blah.

He's in his early thirties, so even old people can be immature (30+ is old to me).

You.....got harassed for getting a better score? Who cares THAT much about their score they go buttfrustrated and saying he wished you cancer and hope you'd die? That's just ridiculous. :/

It's bad on Call of Duty. I'm pretty good at it, and on occasion, I'm called a camper and all that good stuff by people a lot older than I am.

I hate campers and would never do it myself.

I feel like this is inevitable regardless of media. If movies were interactive, I imagine the same thing.
