Earlier today in RE (religious education) our year 12 class was discussing whether creationism should be taught in faith schools.

Now as a scientist, I said no. I made the points that creationism is not accepted by the scientific community as a theory, that evolution has mountains of evidence and that it is a debate as to whether even god exists let alone if creationism is true.

The only problem is nobody in my class started taking me seriously. They started laughing when I said "evolution is a wonderful, beautiful organic theory" and constantly interrupted my speech with absurdities such as "JUST YOUR OPINION" and " WHAT ARE YOU IN ABOUT". The teacher was just spectating so there was barely any order.

Anybody held me with some comebacks or retorts again these type of people? Tips for me?

They all laughed at you! They called you mad. But you'll show them, YOU'LL SHOW THEM ALL! AH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Just drop the subject. It's over and done with now, they didn't throw any real arguments backed by logic at you (which are frankly the worst kinds of people to even argue with in the first place), and they're not going to listen to whatever you have to say anyway. More than anything else, you're not going to change their minds.

Tell them evolution exists so that man could create beer, and since beer is proof that God wants me to be happy, therefore God exists. (in beer)



Just tell them they're stoopidheads and be done with it. Ignorant people will remain ignorant.

Call them all mongs and say you'll bait them all.

Nothing you can do other than hold your ground.

You could ask them why certain flu vaccines only provide protection for a year years.

Exactly.

And furthermore... why would you want to?

No religion.
