REST QUICKLY TRICK - rest 1 day in 2 seconds!

Post » Wed Oct 09, 2013 11:34 am

Figured out a real cool trick for Skyrim PC users.

This trick lets you rest a full day (or less) in 2 seconds, rather than waiting the standard 24 seconds.

1. Press 'T' to bring up the resting slider.

2. Slide the slider all the way to the right (for 24 hour resting) or just a little to the right (for less than 24 hours).

3. Before you release the left mouse button (from dragging the slider), hit 'ENTER' on your keyboard, then 'NUDGE' your mouse to the left, and THEN release the mouse button.

It will stop the rest sequence after 1 second, but 24 hours will have passed!

Try it outdoors for a neat time-lapse effect!

Hope this trick saves you lots of time, it sure has for me :)

I'd caution against making use of such glitches since as it could potentially muck up other parts of your game, and by the time one realises it is too late to do much about it.

I don't know how this trick could possibly muck up the game. I've been using this for a while now and everything checks out ok. But, of course, if players are worried about problems occurring, they should just save their game first.

I wouldn't call it a trick, but a glitch - the developers probably did not intend for anyone to wait in that manner, and never came across this in their tests; that's why I'd advise caution. Problems need not arise immediately from doing this, but hours down the line saves could become corrupted for whatever reason. Of course, people can do whatever they want with their game, and if nothing bad ever happens from using this glitch, so be it.

The reason this could cause problems is the game is calculating what will happen during the resting period. So, it is possible that something will be messed up, e.g. something that depends on the time will not happen.
