Console Exclusive Worth Playing

Post » Tue Oct 15, 2013 10:51 pm

With the end of the Generation I am looking to play the must have console exclusives. This means no games that are obtainable on the PC.

Criteria: the games must be playable on Xbox 360 or preferably PS3

It would also be great if people listed the must play collections or PS One games

I am going to start off with the games I own and they will be split into console. I will specify if I have beaten or are waiting to be played. All PS games will be played before I start on Xbox games.

Some of the one listed contain muiltple games in the series. For Spyro and Ratchet and Clank I have beaten a couple of the entries.

Playstation Xbox

Infamous (Beaten) Halo 3, ODST, Reach (Played to death)

Modnation Racer (Played to death) Gear of War 1-3 (Played to death)

God of War Sega (Playing Game) Toy Soldier (Beaten)

Ratchet and Clank series (Waiting) Crackdown (Waiting)

Red Dead Redemption (Don't enjoy)

Journey (Beaten)

Dark Souls (Waiting) -Is Demon Souls worth playing too?

Spyro 1-3 (Waiting)

Metal Gear Solid series
Uncharted (pretty decent)
L.A. Noire
LittleBigPlanet (also decent)
The Last of Us.

These are on PS3 BTW.

There's something wrong with you

I thought that game was amazing, the story was great and horses were handled better then any game to date (Beth should take notes for the next TES). This game was one of the only games where a part of the story actually touched me and made me feel emotionally connected to the character.

EDIT:

I'd like to add Heavy Rain and Ninja Gaiden 2 as must plays...1 is story driven, the other action but both are great in their own genres.

Wow. It must've been really fun to attempt to construct two columns like that.

I enjoyed: Halo Reach and Forza on the Xbox. on the PS3...maybe Uncharted..

Dark Souls is on both consoles (and PC) But Demons Souls is PS3 exclusive.

The games are very similar in playstyle, but offer unique experiences and challenges.
Both highly recommended, and they can be played in any order, as they are not true sequels.

You've got some good taste...especially RDR

Out of curiosity I looked up Ni No Kuni and it looked interesting, sort of like Zelda meets 1 of those anime styles that I forget the name of ha....I was nearly sold on it until I saw the Final Fantasy turn based style of combat which I loathe. I really wish it had live action combat as that turn based crap is so unrealistic and outdated imo.

So sell me on DoA 5 Ultimate...what's the difference with the "Ultimate" title compared to the edition without it? I was a big fan of DoA way back on DoA 2 hardcoe on PS2 but haven't played a DoA since...does it still have solid and smooth fighting or did they add a bunch of unnecessary nonsense like the Soul Blade series?

Not sure if Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix is available on PC (doubt it), but I recommend it (PS3). :)

Also FFXIII, but that is obviously not everyone's cup of tea.

I second Ico.

And that's all I can think of at the moment (You said you beat inFAMOUS, so I'm stumped). Sorry.

Probably because it's being released for PC early in 14?

I have little doubt that they will make it available on both the new consoles and PC...there's just too much money to be made not to at least put out a PC version.

With Ni No Kuni there are a lot of bumps, it's the overall charm that makes it special :) Combat *is* clunky with its cooldown timers, character/familiar switching and awkward real-time arena style but somehow I just dont mind and am still captivated by the characters and their foibles and presentation. Feed a Mite chocolate and you'll see :D

With DOA 5 Ultimate, think of it as a directors cut of DOA 5. There are a *lot* of varied and indepth fighting styles, interactive and hazardous arenas, polished presentation and rock-solid mechanics. The boobs and bikinis are just the bow on top of a box full of treats waiting to be explored and played with. Lisa and Ayane's fighting styles alone have given me hours of fun. That's the core of it - there are enough styles that there's going to be something for everyone, be it Brad Wong's "drunken" style, Mila's MMA or maybe Helena's "windmill" style or Kasumi's always awesome kicks and throws.

DOA 5 Ultimate is eager to be played, same feeling as Hatsune Miku :)

I don't doubt it'll come to PC, but until it's confirmed by Rockstar, well, it's unconfirmed.

There is a lot of solid evidence of a PC port of GTA 5. So even that is not worth getting now.

Edit

Bauer do you really want to bet against the odds it isn't coming? I'll get to say I told people so... again. Though I can always enjoy being right more, can never get enough of it.

A lot of games have already been mentioned, so I'll just suggest Killer is Dead.

Edit: Oh, and Metal Gear Rising is pretty good too.
