Roleplay.

Hello, forums.

As a RPer in WoW, I am looking forward to seeing how this particularly small aspect of gaming plays out. I am worried that having three factions may limit role-play, as seen in WoW where the Alliance has a lot more players and therefore more RP, but not necesarily superior in quality.

So, do you plan on roleplaying? What are your thoughts on the subject and what, if anything, do you plan on RPing?

As for myself, I will be creating a Khajiit thief, perhaps even going as far as to make a thieving/treasure hunting RP guild.

I plan on roleplaying as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvLJL-i6aBk. I will go to starting zones and insult new players while riding my pink pony.

Many threads on RPing but i really can't see it being that great unless you are in a RP guild. I think the way they have set up the server system will do RPing in TESO more harm than good, yes you have a rp channel but it's not supported like you have in lotro Laurelin server. This game has enough lore to make it a RPers dream but it also needs certain features to give it that RP feel you get in games such as LOTRO.

Hmh, this mega-server business will make it difficult to RP. Not impossible, but lollers and trolls will be a-plenty.

In terms of support, I strongly disagree. Emotes are confirmed, and abilties are aimed. Being able to use abilities during RP fights will really increase immersion as well as chat bubbled being out of the game. In my opinion, chat bubbles can remove from the immersion, but at the same time make it diffcult to keep up with who is speaking and I'd rather keep my eyes on characters, rather than a chatbox. I am not sure how I feel about it. However, guilds will definitely be vital here, you are correct. If there is no dedicated RP server, than we sure as hell need dedicated RP guilds.

I have never played LOTRO, but WoW has hardly any RP support other than emotes. Imagination plays a huge part in it. The only downside I can think of right now is, as previously mentioned, the server ordeal. There will not be a dedicated RP server like in WoW and I assume LOTRO.

I share your concern, but when you start playing you get to choose what kind of people you'd like to play with, one of those choices are roleplayers. So you get into the equivalent of a RP realm.

I'm talking about features like lotro music system/concert or the smoking system, wardrobe system and so on.

Yes imagination does play a big part but having added features really makes RP shine. They have gone the right way with emotes so we are on the right track but much more needs to be added. As for support, well that's their to stop people making names like iwtfpawnskhajiits.

My character is Argonian Shadowscale:

Sdagrl The Lizard is sneaky master assassin.

AshKhan of Tribe Erabenimsun.

Sdagrl loves skooma, hunting and assassinating. Very little is known about him. He minds his own business, but sometimes few exceptions take place. There is a rumor that he is exiled from Morag Tong becouse he declared himself as the enemy of Mephala and proved his loyalty to Dark Brotherhood by murdering everyone in their hideout. Hail Sithis!

Sdagrl is sworn to find out if the Nightmother is truly incarnation of Mephala though he is not sure what he will do when the truth is out. It may never be out.

Settling amongst Ashlanders has calmed him down a bit, maybe he has found a home?

I heard from several sources that they got rid of the Questionnaire at the beginning, there is no RP channel.

no, just saying this thread seems to be under the assumption that there is going to be an RP channel.

roleplay channel is whatever channel one chooses to roleplay on, the fact that there might not be any official one, is not gonna affect the rp community in any way.

OK, no, you're taking my stuff out of context. all i said was there is not RP channel and no Questionnaire, which the OP thought was still part of the game. I never said anything about it being harder (though it will be with all the trolls and chat being filled by non-RPers), nor did i ever say i was against or trying to stop you from RPing.
