"No Kills" in House of Pleasure - but still high cha

Post » Wed Oct 30, 2013 7:45 am

Hi

I'm trying to reply couple of missions in order to lower my chaos and then reply "The Light At The End" with the low chaos.

Anyway, I finished the "House of Pleasure" without killing anyone, but still the stats show it as "High Chaos" (overall chaos).

All missions before "House of Pleasure" were also completed with 0 kills.

Any ideas?

How are you replaying "a couple of missions"? Did you start from the beginning or are you using the "missions" menu? Because the latter doesn't work like that. Each time you're choosing a mission you're loading your old high-chaos save.

But if you keep playing without kills I think you should be able to bring your chaos down. You'd need to play all missions up to the Light at the End though.

Really ??

I thought I could just improve my stats..

Thats disappointing, it will take hours to reply the entire game.

Any other options your might know of ?

Yeah, picking separate missions to play won't change anything in the later ones. When you replay the last mission it will STILL load the same save that you had before.

But changing chaos level isn't very hard. I think I've seen people say that just playing the mission before last without any kills brought the chaos down for them. I don't know if that's guaranteed, but I'd say that if you play 2 or 3 missions before the last without killing anyone, you should get lower chaos. So you can load either The Flooded District or The Return to the Tower and then play continuously to the end, it should result in low chaos.

I don't know if it's possible to load someone else's low chaos save (that would be the fastests way). I've looked at my computer but I don't know which file you'd have to copy; maybe someone else does though.

I'm not sure about the last missions, since I have very little kills from mission 4 (The Royal Physician) and on.

I only understood the concept of low chaos from this level on, and most of the missions has either no kills or 1 or 2 kills.

However, the 1 or 2 kills are usually key characters (which the mission itself is to eliminate them specifically), so maybe thats causing it to still be high.

Too bad.

Thanks for the tip

So you're played with 1 or 2 kills from The Royal Physician and still got high chaos at the end? That seems odd... it should go down after playing peacefully for a few missions. Are you sure you didn't kill more people than that unintentionally? Unconscious people may be eaten by rats and this affects your chaos. People killed by hacked arc pylons and walls of light count towards your headcount as well. The characters you kill don't make a difference. All the targets still count as 1 person as far as I know.

Not bad I think (I can ofcourse do better now).

The overall chaos is high because of previous missions I think.

What do you think ?

I can read them, it's fine. Looks like a peaceful playthrough on the whole (with maybe the exception of the flooded district). I don't know what to suggest, sorry. Maybe you really destroyed everyone in the first missions and that's why it's not going down (or going down very slowly). In general, you're in the low chaos zone if you kill under 20% of people in a level. I guess if you slaughtered everyone up to a point, and did the poison the still mission your death count might have been too high.

Which platform are you playing on? I play on PC; if someone is able to tell me which files need to be copied to recreate a save I could send it to you (I checked and I have a low chaos save just before you depart for Kingsparrow). Is it the .log files? They're just a couple kb so I don't know.
