I have been wracking my brains for a few years now trying to recall a book I read years ago. Other than going back to my Public Library and reading all their Fantasy/Sci-Fi books
OK... The part that I vividly remember and can not place is as follows:
It is a medieval fantasy setting. There is a king (or Baron or some such Nobility) with 2 sons. The younger is a rogue who is introduced by being on a high bluff, practicing throwing knives at a tree that overhangs the bluff. He is there with his horse. He is hanging upside down from one tree's branch and throwing knives at another. He is disturbed, I am thinking by his elder brother, and he uses his horse to retrieve his knives stuck in the other tree (overhanging the bluff).
I know this is a very long shot, and my description may be off. Maybe there are enough fantasy book readers here who may recognize this scene. It has been quite a number of years since I have read the book. I have bugged my friends with this, too, and have a hankering to read this book again. If you have any ideas, I thank you. If you don't, don't feel bad
