Why an MMO instead of...

Post » Sat Nov 02, 2013 12:06 pm

I'm just wondering why make the TES games into an MMO? Or the real question, why not use this new system for online play we are seeing in all these next gen games? The no load matchmaking, and seamlessly joining other peoples games without them noticing. It's just with the TES games its like jumping into a world and having 50+ people onscreen typing, LFG, Selling this, Buying that, will break the TES feel instead of really adding to it.

I understand the game is close to release and there is no altering it, I would just really like to know if that was even a consideration or if any one else thought the same.

Because a TES multiplayer game really could only work as an MMO, The system most non-MMO's use that you are suggesting would not work for a FULL- ON multiplayer experience that only an MMO can bring.

The world of TES makes a perfect setting for a MMO.... Not sure why that would confuse anyone.

Keep in mind, this is not part of the main Elder Scrolls series of games. It's being made by Zenimax Online, not Bethesda.
The TES games aren't being "made into" a MMO, there is just a MMO using the TES license to fulfill all the desire to have multiplayer in a TES game.

Because its an awesome setting for an MMO. Seriously, this argument from the weirdly zealous anti-MMO group is really mindblowing. Just don't play it if you don't want to, there will be more singleplayer TES games, the rest of us really want this.
