time to save money on games..

Im mostly a PC Gamer, and only play consoles when they get an exclusive I wanna play (usually JRPGS, or games like Red Dead Redemption or GTAV)).. and let me tell you, with the next gen being released, Im about to sink a few hundred bucks into the "prev gen"..
The day I heard the XBOX One and PS4 were announced to not be backwards compatible i didn't think much of it, However now it just dawned on me..

Alot of people trade in their previous gen console (in this case, the XBOX360 and PS3) when they buy next gen consoles (usually EBGames will give you a discount when you trade in your last gen console)..

So, with all those pre-owned PS3s (I already have a 360) they will have in stock, I could buy one and save quite a bit..

However, since the PS4 and XboxONE will not be backwards compatible, those who trade in their console will likely trade in their games as well, since they can't play them on the next-gen systems..
Meaning All those exclusives and games will be flooding Game stores, Pawnshops, and sites like Kijiji...

as a result, I will be able to significantly increase my gaming library while saving a pretty penny!

Anyone else think of this? and if so are you going to try and take advantage of the large possibility of savings?

I remember about 6 months after the PS3 and 360's came out that big bins of PS2 and Xbox games showed up in Target, Walmart, game stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations etc. Awesome games could be had for $5 or $10. I picked up 3 PS2 Hitman games for less than $20. After a while, the prices were even less.

Actually, PS3 games MAY be somewhat. IIRC, Sony is looking into cloud based gaming for PS3 titles on PS4.

I am sure most of these games in the bargain bins will be ones that are already made and in the Supply Chain. Sony already got their money on those. In fact, if they do go cloud based for PS3 titles and it works good, I bet the disk based ones will flood the market as all the suppliers dump what they have.

I agree with the lovely Jagnar Tharn moderator about the discs flooding the market... Since, you know, Sony might go cloud and such...

As for OP, the idea is good... Though I'm definably stick to Xbox 360 only. Have no wish for the PS3. As for more games, depends if I can find anymore...

But I know one thing for sure, I've already saved MUCH MONEY for waiting this long for some 360 games that I have now! Waiting a bit longer for the rest would be a good idea.

Man Ive done that years... combine MMO playing with Steam's sales, and you got probably cheapest way to play games, you could probably save a bit if you checked other online-stores though.
