Morrowind's Music in WarTune!?!?

Post » Sun Nov 10, 2013 12:55 am

I am not kidding folks.... I just started playing Wartune and if TES 3's music is not public domain now. I get to my town to build and it is Morrowind's Beginning Music score. Not a remake of it. It is literally as if they just took it off the internet and placed it in Wartune now. If this is not legit I hope someone lets Bethesda know about this blatant rip off. I wish I knew how to record on my PC, So I could play it for you guys. It freaked me out when I heard it playing on a completely different game and dev company.

This one? They have mixed it up a bit, but it's clearly the TES theme. Well you get this kind of crap with dodgy games all the time really.

The one I hear is exactly Morrowind's Musical score at the beginning of the game and it isn't mixed at all. It is an exact copy, but only when I am in my town.

No that isn't it, as I said this is an exact copy of it. I haven't even heard that music.

It isn't the youtube one you posted at all, not even close.

I just wish I knew how to record music on my computer, but I am only a little tech savvy...Not by much compared to the generation now. So I could send it to Todd Howard himself.

Just so people know, I am not just some kid hearing things. I am 46 years old. Been playing video games since the arcade days of the early 80's and I played Morrowind when it was released for about 3 or 4 years off and on between the original xbox and the PC version. Also I am not doing this as a joke or for attention like some forum goers do at times. I am too old too B.S. people over non sense. My only concern is if Bethesda or Zenimax didn't know this and if the music isn't public domain. I know some music from older games ends up free on the inernet and usable by anyone years later.

I saw the link posted above and it does sound similar to MW theme. If you have the other one that's more similar to MW, post the link.

It is not a link just to go to, it only plays on WarTune when you are in your town building. Otherwise the combat music seems to be their own music. Like I said if I could record and post I would. But I am not hearing things and I only listened to that music for about 4 years constantly playing the game. This is exactly the music from the game. I even took out my headphones and let my wife listen and she confirmed it. Because she used to watch me play for over a year herself. Maybe if the Devs possibly would just start a game on Wartune they could hear it themselves. It could be the different servers also. Because I realized I was on a foreign server also.

did you try using a light game recorder? I don't doubt you, pretty sure the makers either got mixed up with some third party "making" their music or they purposely used it because their fans? knowing beth they'd lawyer up on something this blatant lol, remember "scrolls"

Best course of action is to let the Bethesda Softworks staff here know so they can send it on to the legal department.

If you mean the video linked above, i'd think that a coincidence. Divinity 2 also has music that sounds damn close to Morrowind theme at the beginning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=XiaZpcUyzJ4#t=97

No it not the youtube music you guys keep posting on the thread. It is an exact copy of Morrowind's intro music score. I just sent GStaff a note with the server I was on and told them to hear it themselves. This wasn't some crappy youtube mix. it was the real music from the beginning of the game. If people don't want to believe me that is ok. But go try the game yourself on Jade Temple Server on WarTune.

R2 is already known not to great anyway now. They just lost the rights to City of Steam MMO and Mechanist took it back and re releasing it later this month hopefully.

Well, he'll know what to do about that.

Wasn't Wartune the game that was advertised with half-naked fantasy chicks? :hubbahubba:

Why would you send it to Mr. Howard? Wouldn't the legal department be better? I'm going to tweet Pete Hines and let him know.

Thank you jack. I wasn't sure who to contact. This is serious to me. Because I am a big fan and defender of Bethesda and have been since I started playing TEs when Morrowind was released. I have had my doubts at times. But they always pull through in the end. I told GStaff to contact the legal department also and check it out themselves. Like I said above to it was on one of their foreign servers it seemed.

That is just P.R. non sense to get the guys to play. I just started playing because I was bored and waiting for City of Steam's re release later this month. And really you don't see anything because the characters are too small and I don't play for the six appeal, I play for the fun and challenge of the game.....lol
