Does anyone know anything about pve endgame?

Post » Sun Nov 10, 2013 8:46 am

I'm really starting to get curious we've seen details of ONE pve area in the game so far and we have had PvP info rammed down our throats. Am I missing something ? I love PvE I hope it is still awesome

We know there are adventure area's, instance dungeons, and public dungeons. We also know that much of the PVE endgame is in Cyrodiil. Also, once you reach lv 50 and complete the main story, you get access to another one of the alliance territories for you to explore and do quests in, though it is n a different instance of it so you do not see any characters of that alliance and the quests are quests around your level. after that, you get access to the third territory in the same way. T is called 50+ and 50++.

While it'll take me AGES to reach end game (hopefully, and knowing the way I play), once I ~do~ get there, I sure hope there is NO element of PvP involved in it whatsoever. Like, I don't even want to go THROUGH Cyrodiil to get to the opposing sides. I might have to, unless they have some "gate" or other transition.... which they might, since I DON'T want to be entering the same area as the native characters of that faction, but rather the 50+ areas. It just annoys me to think that I'll have to subject myself to PvP to get TO the PvE content... and if there's PvE content in Cyrodiil? Just wasted their resources if they expect me to see it. ;p

Also Dark Anchors are PvE. Or PVPvE ish? But then again several dungeons are too so...

But I agree with the above poster...I don't think I've ever seen a PVPvE zone done well enough that peopl actually spend time there.

If we do have to go through Cyrodiil to first enter a 50+ or 50++ PvE area, I'd bet it will be instanced like the 50+ & 50++ areas. That makes sense. If this is the case, I can see both sides of the coin:

  • PvE-only players would get to at least see Cyrodiil.
  • They would have long treks ahead of them to first reach 50+ and 50++ areas.
  • It is likely they would be able to fast travel to/from once they find way-points.

I would think though that we could just fast travel into the 'newbie' area of 50+ and 50++ to give us a quick starting point.

They've also mentioned Adventure Zones which we don't know much about yet, large scale group content they are currently working on, similar to raids I'm guessing, hopefully they'll release more information on these soon.

There is many, many dungeons is Cyrodiil, they have stated it multiple times that you do not HAVE to go to Cyrodiil, but you will be missing out on at least some PVE as well as PVP. There is no non-PVP instanced Cyrodil, though you are probably right and you just get sent there or you can fast travel there.

I'm just worried adventure zones won't give me that raid feel, there's nothing EPiC about killing 200 mobs....

Currently known:

AZ's (Still in development, not much is known yet)

Master Dungeons (Basically "heroic" dungeons)

50+/50++ content (scaled hardmode quest content, said to be a viable route for endgame progression)

What's less epic than you and 23 others taking on 200+ enemies that isn't epic about you and 23 other friends bullying up on 1 big guy? And like I mention above, they're not even finished with them so we don't know yet what they really are.

I have the feeling adventure zones are going to be similar to the same thing in Rift, which is not a bad thing.

Personally, me and guildees killing 200 enemies would be so much more epic that attacking the feet of a giant boss. Too many MMOs go down that route, it's too simple and easy

Why are you under the assumption that there would be no boss fights in their raids? All they have said is that they won't do giant bosses. They've never said that there wouldn't be any. They want to do many vs many, not many vs one giant baddie.

I'm not assuming anything I'm a tad worried about it, they have released little to no content on anything dungeon related

I kinda wish that the queue system auto-tele'd a person into the Cyrodil instanced dungeons. Would be insanely convinient because you know those entrances will be swarmed to death.

I don't want a "Jimmy got ganked outside!" moment.

I assume there will be plenty of big boss fights, though. For example, daedric titans look pretty darn big.

They released an article a few months back talking all about dungeons. The thing they haven't released anything about was Adventure Zones but that's because they are currently working on it and there is no need to talk about something that isn't even done yet.

Hell, they had a whole damn gameplay video of them playing in a dungeon. So I don't know why you said there hasn't been any information about dungeons when there clearly has been.

I'd say quality > quantity is about right, but I don't particularly get all giddy about PvE like most people do. I also don't think dark anchors are going to be big PvE endgame things, moreso things you just encounter alot while leveling.
