Elder Scrolls Online Events?

Post » Tue Nov 12, 2013 1:57 am

In most mmos they have events during certain holidays where you can participate in various activities and win prizes.
Don't think they've addressed anything about this, but do you think this would be good or bad?, especially with how roleplaying and immersion is with elder scrolls.

They are going to happen, does not matter what is said, asked, or what, they ARE going to happen whether people like it or not.

I wouldnt say downright celebrate holidays that dont exist in Elder Scrolls universe, but find a way to incorporate them. And definitely for Tamriel holidays.

I don't see why not, as long as we celebrate Tamrielic holidays instead of Christmas or Halloween. It shouldn't be a problem because most real world holidays have an in-universe equivalent.

That's what I was thinking. I don't think I'd like to see everyone run around in santa hats :l

So instead of christmas it would be like Talos day for the nords? lol

I will bring pie and mead just for you xD

And chips. It has to be "free" pie and chips like the little green guy here stated:

Dont forget sweetrolls.

And maybe they could just give away themed cosmetics and treats and not actually mention any real-world holidays?

Well, no, in ESO timeline Talos hasn't been born yet. :P Anyway, Tibedetha is in June.

Oh yeah xD hahaha

I suppose I should've looked up Tamriel holidays but I'd imagine most of them would be race specific. Another thing to ponder when we approach the holiday season in ESO Dx<

Most of the known ones are High Rock or Hammerfell traditions because the last time holidays actually had any significance was in Daggerfall. But there were some national holidays and I imagine Daedric summoning days are Tamriel-wide too (now that's something I'd love to see again!)

Luckily, nothing's stopping ZOS from inventing new ones in place of the most important real world holidays. :)

I could see them doing more festivals/celebrations rather than holidays. Like a national skooma day!!

There's is already a holiday in the lore that is essentially Christmas on Nirn. So it's going to be there.

Well if it's lore friendly I'm fine with it, just don't want to see a load of orcs wearing red and white with white bushy beards singing ho ho ho
