HOLIDAY COOKING: Eso Edition (crafting related)

Post » Wed Nov 27, 2013 2:27 am

So with the Holiday season rushing upon us , not only for us in the US but around the world

Id like to invite everyone this think of the Provisioner Profession. A few months back we had a Dev question focused on what type of item youd create and if it it had a buff or not.

Everyone choose a Holiday or Season that would be Viable in the ESO universe.

What ingredient will you use?

What Holiday would it be for? ( please explain lore but cliff notes it )

What if any type of buff/debuff would the item have?

Have fun with this everyone!

I think I have no idea what you are talking about but I'm in love with Neloth so canis root tea must be up for grabbies. Are you saying the mmo should celebrate irl holidays with made up ones?

Eh more outside of the box than in, I do not want to see RL holidays in ESO by far not literally anyway but some type of holiday that would have familiarity for players to understand the meaning but enough story and traditions that its still its own.

Well you may want to throw this in the OP.

I am really not sure on the origins of most of these Holidays. It is a rare holiday that lasts over 800 years. But...

Jester's Day- Be warned that today is Jester's Day in the cities of all provinces, and pranks are being set up from one end of town to the other. It is as if a spell has been cast over the community, for even the most taciturn and dignified councilman might attempt to play a joke on his relative. The Thieves Guild finds particular attention as everyone looks for pickpockets in particular.

Ingredient- Dust of Madness.

You throw it at someone(s) and they have a buff and debuff that changes after a randomized amount of minutes. Only like a 5% buff/debuff though. This also changes the music of the game to reflect other regions. All Pact music is now found across the Covenant area, all Covenant Music is now in the Dominion and all Dominion music is now in the Pact.

If you go here, there's a list of currently known Tamrielic holidays. Should there be two L's in Tamrielic? That looks a bit off...

On topic: I chose Othroktide, which falls on the 5th of Sun's Dawn. It celebrates the day Baron Othrok took the city of Dwynnen back from undead forces in the Battle of Wightmoor.

Maybe a tombstone or skull-shaped cookie or small cake that gives a +1 to +5 damage against undead for an hour or so depending on one's skill level (the higher the better the damage buff or the longer said buff lasts).

Edit: Albino Dunmer's link is a good one as well.
