Dishonored Speedrunning

What is it?

Well, for those of you that don't know anything about speedrunning, it's simple enough, you're trying to beat the game as fast as possible. There are many categories for each game too. For example, Dishonored has 2 main categories, and few random ones that no one really does. If this has already lost your interest, feel free to leave, otherwise, here's some more information

How does it work?

Speedrunning, as stated before, isn't complex as far as understanding what it is, however each game brings something different to the table. In the case of Dishonored, it's the blinking mechanic that makes the run so interesting and fun to do. As far as getting started, it's as simple as going onto Twitch.tv and looking for people that run it, and watching them. Feel free to ask questions too, it's a very helpful community. People that are worth checking out that do run Dishonored include Cirno_TV Derkman12345 and DecidedSloth.

How do I get started?

In order to start running Dishonored, you'll first need something to keep track of your "splits" or how long it takes you to complete each section. I personally use WSplit, but there are others. You'll also need to have Dishonored in version 1.2 or under because the run does include some patched glitches. After you have those two things, you simply need to learn the route for whichever category you wish to run, and then practice.

What are the Categories?

The two major categories in Dishonored speedrunning are Any % and NLG. Any % is the simplest, which is simply getting to the end of the game in the least amount of time possible. NLG (Which is what I run, and is my favorite) is Non-Lethal Ghost which I'm sure most of you know what it is. If not, it's beating the without killing anyone and without being detected. Aside from those two, the smaller less relevant ones (that are still fun) include All Collectibles, 100%, Rambo, and Any % Glitchless (the worst and most cancerous category). If you have any questions on those, feel free to ask about it.

Anything Else?

If you want any more information (or if you noticed I left something out) feel free to bring it up and ask questions. I'm ready to answer. I hope to see some new faces in the community soon!
