Too narrow 1st person field of view

Post » Thu Dec 05, 2013 10:10 am

Is anyone else worried like me that the game is going to be unplayable in 1st person view because of too narrow Field of View?

I have heard that FOV isn't going to be adjustable (at least not at launch). To me 1st person view just seems to be an afterthought as it wasn't originally even planned to be included.

Too narrow 1st person FOV problems:

- Nausea to some people who play close to their screens (or have big screens)

- Uncompetitive 1st person view as you'd get much better situational awareness in 3rd person view

1st person FOV should be at least 90 degrees (even on consoles), not something like 65 like it was in Skyrim. Well made PC games and ports have FOV sliders that support at least 120 degrees (Far Cry 3, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare etc.)

If they don't add an option to adjust FOV in first person I'm gonna be very sorry. I get headache if the FOV is lower than 85-90. :(

Thats just what you get when playing in 1st. If they make it wider then you might as well play in 3rd anyways. 3rd will always be better regardless. So yeah people asked for 1st, now live with it.

From the videos I've seen, I don't see an issue. Although, I think it's difficult to tell FoV issues from just youtube videos...

I agree there should be a FoV slider, if there is in fact none.

not sure what has been said/seen about FoV outside of the beta so i figure its best to not comment just yet on it. i will add though the 1st person view was not intended and was added after they saw the demand for it, so i would consider it an evolving process

I compltely agree, there should be an FOV slider, but that will not help 1st person being worse than 3rd person at all.

Also, they only added 1st person, basically as an after thought, because literally the entire internet went BOOM because they did not have it. I do not think they really care about 1st person view at all.

Maybe there should be a slider, but personally from what I've seen it looks fine, same as other elder scrolls games, remember 3rd person is viable too.

Wider 1st person (than 3rd person) FOV fixes it. Not everyone wants to play the game in 3rd person.

The FOV in the videos is too narrow for me. I'm used to a wider view.

I couldn't play Skyrim with 65 degrees. I had to .ini tweak it to 90.
