Please explain ESO

Can anyone please explain the ESO?

1. What is the setting?

2. How is it different from Skyrim?

3. Is there a main story line? If so what will it be?

4. How will the multiplayer differ from other games like Call of Duty and Battlefield 4?

The setting is Tamriel, the continent that all of the games take place on. Depending on your Alliance, you will be in different parts of Tamriel. Parts of every province are available, but not the whole continent. The unfinished areas will be added in updates. The game takes place in the Second Era, during a three way war.

It is different from Skyrim mostly because its an MMO. That means there will be other people around and there are going to be changes to certain features. For instance, combat is "action-ish" but you do not have real time projectile or player collision like in Skyrim.

There is a main story line. It is all about the Soulless One fighting off Molag Bal, who is trying to pull Nirn (the planet of TES) into his Daedric realm of Coldharbor (a nasty place.)

Multiplayer is very different from those types of games, because this is an MMO. First, a lot of the multiplayer will be cooperative in what we call "Player versus Environment" or PvE. This means doing quests and dungeons with your friends and working as a group. The competitive aspect, "Player versus Player" or PvP,is also quite different. Instead of playing "games" that end every 15 mintues with a winner or loser, players will fight in an ongoing persistent war.

If you have more questions, you should watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD7x1KF8N8o&list=TLCXoU6-Hc9zNjWfK879LRsHI2h1KmjZ5j

Its slightly dated and some things have changed, but it would be a good place for you to start.

Be sure to check out the Tamriel Foundry website as there is a lot of good info there as well.

Thanks for the vid. It mentioned visiting other parts of Tamriel in future DLCs. I wonder what Skyrim would look like in that time period. With Nordic cities instead of ruins. Dwarven cities too especially blackreach.

The eastern part of Skyrim is open for exploration. The Dwarves (Dwemer) died long before ESO so no dwarven cities, only the ruins.

It's not going to be DLC per se. It's a continuously updated client with additional content being added all along. About once every couple of months or so. As far as Skyrim... it's going to be open to explore from day one.

It would be awesome if you could incorporate the rise and fall of the Dwemer as a quest line in The Elder Scrolls Online.

While The Elder Scrolls Online does take place nearly a thousand years before the events of Skyrim, it's still thousands of years after the disappearance of the Dwemer. We're happy to let you know that you may encounter traces of the Dwemer in ESO, including being able to explore Dwemer ruins; in fact, you can see a ruin and some of its mechanical denizens in our http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/media/videos/411.
