Hi, first post and I can't find a search feature on the forum. The game won't let me select the very first perk in the Smithing tree. I have 32 Smithing points and it's a real drag not being able to advance. All other perks seem to be able to be added fine, but not Steel Smithing. I'm on xbox and click the Steel Smithing perk and it acts like I'm not even pushing the button.

Can anyone please help?

Try using a forge and see if you can create steel weapons and armour.

Is the steel smithing perk star thingy glowing purple, blue or yellow.

That's a strange one as you only need 20 in smithing to take the perk. Do you definitely have a perk available to you to do this, if so all I can suggest is reloading.

Found the problem! I had already selected it and didn't know it. Now I'm advancing. Thanks for the help!
