London or Berlin?

Post » Tue Dec 10, 2013 5:27 am

To escape from depression and solitary confinement in my house, I've decided to spend new year's eve in London or Berlin. Sadly, I don't know which to choose.

I'm 26, male, traveling alone (but I'd like not to be alone all the time), I like scotch and very loud music (preferably rock music). Is there anyone from London or Berlin on this forum that can tell me what is there to do in their respective city in the week that goes from 27 December 2013 to 04 January 2014? I mean, any concert, dive bar or very loud very crowded place I should see?

Both a great cities. But London is larger and much more multicultural and has a lot more entertainment and things to do.

Though Berlin could be fun because of potential language barriers (language barriers = hilarious situations, especially at bars night night clubs  )

Don't know about any specific events in either of the cities at that time though.

You are right about Berlin, I went to ThessalonĂki in october and there were plenty of hilarious situations, but I must admit that I also took on the horrible english accent they have there, so I'd like a purely english country for a change... Also, Language barriers don't help you finding things to do...

I think you'll find most young people speak English fairly well in Berlin, language isn't much of a barrier in my experience.
