This is the second game I've played in the past year with shoddy audio engineering.
Creating a game that fails to properly implement surround sound in a 5.1 setup is either gross negligence or even worse- indifference...
all i hear from the front channel speaker are quiet ambient environment reverb echo effects... no gunfire, no NPC talking, no foot steps...
(and yes my speakers are setup correctly and both 5.1 and auto were tried as in game menu settings)
unfortunately not even a single review i read points this fact out...which is a disservice in and of itself
I can't believe games from the late 1990s have better surround sound support than this game...
I'm about 3 hours in and the poor audio implementation is becoming borderline intolerable...
You wouldn't manufacturer a 747 jet airplane without windshields would you?...
But hey don't worry, the turbines run fine and and it has lots of passenger windows!
OS: Win7 (x64)
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series
Speakers: Creative GigaWorks ProGamer G500 5.1
PS.
When the game launches, the black and white Bethesda logo intro movie plays and sound comes out of the center channel speaker perfectly fine- isn't it ironic, don't cha think?
