I assume "tootip" is proper term? The little white description boxes that pop up as you hover over... "everything" across the site.

They are the most annoying things. They don't tell me anything that I need to know and often simply duplicate what I'm hovering over to start with. Plus, they actually block the next thing below as my eye is scanning the page.

I can only hope that one of the learned members here can post a code or what code to remove in a Styles for this site in Chrome.

You can disable them in Firefox by going to about:config and setting browser.chrome.toolbar_tips to false.

Nonetheless, I browsed over the Chrome settings and sadly that doesn't seem to be an option with this browser.

they're javascript based. No browser setting will disable them, well, except disabling javascript, but that'll disable a lot of other forum features too.

You can try tracking down the javascript responsible for it and blocking it.

I'm glad I'm not the only person irritated by them. Though they're useful when used appropriately and sparingly, that's often not the case: there does seem to be a plague of them, and not just here, they're an increasing nuisance on lots of websites.
