I activated beast form while activating lydia for dialogue. When i fully transform i select the "trade items" option then gp to my character's inventory and equip anything i want. The stuff stays on me afterwords.

only works with differently named items though.

Looks awesome, but I wouldn't be able to wear that in Whiterun with our shouting friend there to remind us what the hood and cape represent. Nice beard you have going on there though XD
