Paul sage had this to say back in March during an interview with Massively.

This is the only mention of this I can find in any interview, anywhere about it.
Does anyone have any firm knowledge on the matter beyond this snippet of interview? (note: not looking for speculation, we have enough of that.)

Aaaaaaand that's why the question. The citation, if accurate, confirms cross faction play to some extent in pve post 50.

I don't trust it without corroborative information.

Except that, if the citation were correct, the 'assumption' would be an entirely logical conclusion. Unless you have an alternate definition of 'playing with friends', as opposed to being able to 'group up, chat, and run dungeons' with them?

Nonetheless, the interview is indeed incorrect, as below:

"Players can only group with members of their own Alliance. You may, however, communicate with guildmates in another Alliance, as guilds in The Elder Scrolls Online are account-based rather than character-based."

That was updated a week ago, so that's that then.

Yeah, that article from all the way back in March has pretty much been debunked. They have told us multiple times since then that we will never play with the other alliances outside of Cyrodiil.

That's a real shame! I would've loved to try to be undercover in other factions...

Lol i dont like that idea, but for social sure. Lets all be friends in that zone, while in the other zone will be killing you.
