PSN Questions?

Post » Thu Dec 19, 2013 7:29 am

I've placed an order for a PS4 bundle today, which miraculously was the last one left in stock and will be ready to collect tomorrow, and it contains the PS4 console, Killzone: Shadow Fall and a year's worth of PSN Plus.

As an Xbox 360 user who has never owned a Sony console but has decided to make the switch because of Xbox One's media focus, I don't have a clue about how PSN works. Can usernames still not be changed once selected? If so, does anyone here have any suggestions because I am terrible at thinking of unique ones? Also, does Sony still give away free games on PSN for the PS4?

Yeah, the usernames are permanent unfortunately, so you can't change them. Bit annoying.

If you mean PSN Plus games for the PS4, yeah.

With PSPlus, you get to buy certain games at a discount and you get certain other games for free. The free games only stay in your account for as long as you have PSPlus; after that, they revoke the license and you need to pay for it (if I'm not mistaken). If you buy a game at a discount with PSPlus and later quit your subscription, you don't ever need to pay off the remainder.

If my subscription ran out, but I renewed, say, a day later, would the games return. It doesn't really matter though, because I typically renew my online subscriptions on an annual basis at Christmas time.

Does anyone here any PSN name suggestions? Also, how strict are they with their naming regulations. I had a username in mind, which is an old nickname, but it actually is old slang for alcohol. Are they really stingy with their naming rules?

I know of such ways for Xbox Live, but is there a way to see if a certain PSN username is available?

Does anyone else know? There are ways for Xbox. I'd like, especially since you cannot change it, to make a really good one in advance for tomorrow. Does anyone here own Killzone?
