Just curious to see how the proportions stack up, as I've seen quite a few folks on here boldly announcing their expectation to squat on the ol' throne of rubiness. Except for Carde, of course. He's clearly Emperor already...

I am TERRIBLE at PVP and also prefer to be the Healer or tank (i am actually a fairly good healer, despite it being supposedly the hardest part to play). I honestly doubt i will ever become emperor on any of my characters.
Being a emperor is like being a raid leader. You are good and people like you as a leader or you are very dumb and get alot of hate throw towards your face. I don't wanne be emperor because it takes responsibility and i aint in the mood for that while playing the game.
It is only a matter of time before you will all be referring to me as "Your Majesty."
Oh this is shaping up great so far. A whole third of people are expecting the Emperorship. Excuse me while I cackle quietly to myself...
Not I.
I'm a Lone Wolf. That is not a path I will tread.
M'aiq says,"Who needs the spot light when a Khajiit can rule the world in the shadows"
If it keeps him handling the weekly polls, he can believe whatever he wants to believe.
I'd like to, really, but Carde's threatened to yank my mod status if I do that again.
Plus healing contributes to your alliance points total too, so anyone that wants to be Emperor is gonna have to start sharing the restorative love at some point.
Like wise.
I will be the Traveling Vagabond
Just means the competition will be fierce.
Its something everyone wants, but only few will ever get.
Just gonna throw a bit of maths on here right now, given that the ratio's been very consistent at over 30%:
2000 is the cap we've been given for the population of each campaign. 30% of that would, of course be 600 people. So for each campaign, the expectation is that we will see 1.6 Emperors every day. Deducting a third of the time to allow for the time it'll take to get all the keeps for one faction (a *very* conservative estimate, IMHO), that means that the average reign will be less than 10 hours. Quite cramped, I'd say.
Just trying to rein in peoples' expectations here with a bit of rational logic here.
Indeed, but the question is not "do you want to be Emperor", it's "do you expect to become Emperor". Of course everyone wants it, that's a given.
I'm gonna try, but it's not going to be easy. Don't think my chances will be high.
Well of course. But people tend to believe in their own abilities.
What would be the point of trying if you didn't think you could get it? Wouldn't be a real competition.
No one enters a sports tournament looking for 2nd place but only one person can get 1st. Same logic applies here.
Again though, there's a difference between "going in looking for 2nd" and gunning for the top spot with a realistic assessment of the probabilities. I've not been seeing "well I'll try", I've been seeing loads of "get out of my way plebs, the throne is mine" posts.
And again, that's just confidence.
Very few people start out towards a goal with the expectation of failure.
