Raspberry Pi

I know that this has been out for a while but I just found out http://www.raspberrypi.org/about now.

Looks pretty cool right? You cant beat that price, though I know it isnt exactly the same thing as a computer. Here's a link for a little bit more info on it as well. http://www.extremetech.com/computing/148482-the-true-cost-of-a-raspberry-pi-is-more-than-you-think

I'm pretty sure there isn't already a topic about this, but sorry if there is.

horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE I/O. The network and USB ports are on the same bus so the faster one is the slower the other is and vice-versa.

They're neat little remote devices and when doing things related to their codecs, but they svck for pretty much everything else.

I find the http://cubox-i.com/ more interesting.

http://utilite-computer.com/web/home is also interesting.

You don't think they would be fun to just mess around with?

Not particularly. It's too limiting in the I/O dept for the things I'd be interested in it for. There's nothing it can do better than the cubox-i or utilite other than being half the price and having a bigger dev base. Spec for spec it's worse. I've yet to see anyone happy with one for anything "serious" beyond remote single-purpose node type of devices or for hardware-based video decoding as a video renderer.
