Question about car stereo.

Now I know a gaming forum may not be the best place to ask this question but just because we all play games doesn't mean someone does not know the answer. After all I don't want to start a new account on some car forum just to ask one question. I have a 1994 Ford Explorer, I bought a Pioneer stereo to put in it. After I got the wire harness all wired up I plug it in, everything worked except the sound. After much trial and error I came to the conclusion that the factory amp in my explorer was not being turned on by the new stereo. I am wondering if there is anything easier I can do besides just bypassing the amp. I mean it will be pretty annoying to have to run new speaker wire everywhere.

You should be able to bypass the amp at the amp itself and not have to run wires anywhere. Disconnect the amp and connect the inputs coming from your new stereo to the outputs going to the speakers with jumpers. Question is whether your stereo will have the power to drive the speakers without an amp.
