Hi

I was doing the collage of winterhold quest and the arch mage savos died. But the game didn't register that he was dead so I cant get what I need to get the staff of Magnus. This happened ages ago and they only way I could fix this is going back to before savos died. Since nothing happened I've done lots of things that I don't want to do all over again. Is there a way to fix this without loosing all my progress? please help.

This happened to me once. I had many saves, even before I accepted going to Mzulft. There is no known fix on console.

It's a game breaking glitch. Ruined my mage character.
