Zenimax, please add Dueling & Inspecting to ESO

Post » Sat Dec 28, 2013 2:50 am

The developers seriously need to add dueling to the game. Dueling allows players to get accustomed to PvPing and helps them practice for the Alliance War. This may even help

get the die-hard PvE players out of their comfort zone and help with the war effort. For those players not interested in dueling, have the option to auto-decline any such request.

Lastly, a player should also be able to inspect another player’s equipment and character information. Thoughts?

i fully agree on character inspection but i must say that i feel dueling does nothing at all as far as pvp training. open world pvp and a 1 on 1 duel are 2 very different beasts. you would use a different skill layout for both

Just like a fellow community member on this website once posted "anything that breaks my immersion should not be there." Wise words. So, how does someone go about trying to create as much immersion as possible well its rather simple because that formula has already been developed by other people, and ZOS and Bethesda of all people should find it rather easy.

Hint: make it as similar as possible to skyrim.

lol at this post. adding dueling or the ability to inspect would not diminish immersion in any way shape or form

Counter question how does dueling, and inspection of player characters keep immersion, or fortifies it?

If there is a flag post that come out of nowhere from the sky like seen in World of Warcraft that breaks immersion in a general manner because it doesn't connect with the real world. Good enough?

immersion and real world do not go hand in hand.

i agree though the flag system in wow was horrible. if they do that it should be set to off by default for everyone

Dueling sure. Player inspecting don't see a reason for it. What ever happened to socializing in MMOs? Everyone wants their own private little shard to play on or some list to pick groups from its crazy. In the end it just ruins communities.

If you want to know about someone's char then ask them maybe? Too many MMOs are ripping the MM out of the genre now days.

Support both points by the OP. Just add an option to enable/disable inspection similar to LOTRO.

How does magically chatting with other players in the zone keep immersion, or fortify it?

Not everything in this game is going to support immersion. It's an MMO as well as a TES game.
