So, I saw http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2014/01/28/22479561-uks-queen-elizabeth-down-to-last-16-million-in-reserves-after-royal-overspend?lite article this morning and got to wondering, does this mean the royals are teetering into bankruptcy risk? It seems to me like they might be. Then again, I'm unsure if they get a monthly money allowance and it just means they're in the red for now or what exactly. Anyway, I just thought this was interesting.

I imagine they will muddle through. Or else the roof at Buckingham palace will just leak on their heads while they save up some cash for repairs. I don't think this relates to their personal fortunes though.

Sounds to me like they just went over budget. Happens all the time. At least here in the US. But then again, US politicians and government likes to just spend money on frivolous things. The UK government is probably the same though. I'd say there's probably nothing to worry about.
